Our Story

The Canadian Edit started with a simple frustration: there wasn't one good place to discover Canadian brands. Our founder, Jenny, kept finding incredible makers one at a time — through Instagram rabbit holes, friends' recommendations, a label spotted in a store — and wishing someone would just pull them all together.

So she started doing it herself. What began as a personal list of favourites grew into a curated directory of the Canadian brands worth knowing about — across fashion, beauty, home, wellness, and beyond. Every brand is chosen with care, not scraped from a database. Every feature is written by someone who actually cares whether you'd love it.

The Canadian Edit is still small, still growing, and still run by one person who believes Canadian creativity deserves a proper home on the internet.

  • How do you decide which brands to feature?

    Every brand is hand-picked. We look for Canadian makers with a distinct point of view, thoughtful design, and products we'd genuinely want in our own homes. We only list brands we'd actually recommend — every listing is reviewed editorially before going live.

  • What makes a brand "Canadian" for the purposes of this directory?

    At minimum, the brand is founded or headquartered in Canada. We prioritize brands that make or manufacture here, but we also feature Canadian-founded brands whose production happens elsewhere.

  • Do you accept brand submissions?

    Yes. If you run a Canadian brand you think belongs here, you can submit it through our Submit a Brand form. We review every submission personally.

  • How often is the directory updated?

    New brands are added regularly as we discover them. Follow us on Instagram or subscribe to the newsletter to hear about new additions first.

  • How can I suggest a brand?

    Either through the Submit a Brand form or by DMing us on Instagram — both reach us directly.
