Selfish Swimware
Handmade in Montreal, this ethical swimwear label celebrates every curve with thoughtfully tailored designs that prioritize confidence, craftsmanship, and conscious production.
About the brand
Founded in 2017 by designer Naomie Caron, Selfish Swimwear makes handmade swimwear for women of every body type, produced entirely in a Montreal studio. A graduate of Cégep Marie-Victorin with six years of costume design experience in film, Caron launched the brand out of a tension she couldn’t ignore: a love of fashion colliding with the industry’s overconsumption and exploitative labour practices. Selfish is her answer, a brand that treats ethical production and body inclusivity as non-negotiable.
Every piece is cut and sewn by hand in the Montreal studio using high-quality materials, with a commitment to Quebec craftsmanship at every stage. Caron’s work has earned the Development and Innovation Award in Lingerie and Swimwear from Mmode and the Black Designer of Canada Award of Excellence, both recognitions of her role as a catalyst for change in an industry that rarely questions itself. The result is swimwear designed to build confidence, not demand conformity.
