About the brand
Based in Vancouver, Annie Axtell Studios creates functional objects shaped by the artist and designer’s background in fine arts. The studio is best known for its sculptural pillow collections, where curved forms and playful shapes turn everyday cushions into tactile pieces that sit somewhere between homewares and art objects. Alongside the pillows, Axtell also creates graphic year-at-a-glance and moon phase calendars designed for keeping track of time while adding something visual to the wall.
Collections are produced in limited runs, with a focus on natural fibres and textiles sourced from deadstock and end-of-roll materials. The materials vary from collection to collection, allowing the character of each fabric to play a role in the finished pieces. The result is a body of work that moves between soft sculpture, functional design and printed objects for the home.
