The Paperhood
Playful, city-inspired paper goods meet a thoughtful sustainability ethos, with illustrated prints and stationery that celebrate neighbourhoods near and far—made on recycled paper and designed to bring a little everyday joy to your walls and desks.
About the brand
Rooted in a love of paper and playful city illustration, The Paperhood is a Toronto paper goods design studio creating cards, prints, and stationery inspired by neighbourhoods and streetscapes from Toronto to Montreal to New York. Founder Malika Pannek grew up in Germany and spent years working as a graphic designer in the corporate world before turning her illustrations into a full product line, originally under the name Made in Brockton Village.
Based in Toronto’s Junction neighbourhood, the studio has built a following through its hand-painted takes on local architecture and urban life, and has since expanded into a platform where other artists can collaborate on products released under The Paperhood banner. Sustainability runs through every stage of production: all paper is 100% recycled, packaging is plastic-free, and the team is continually looking for ways to reduce its environmental footprint.
