About the brand

Launched in 2023 by Kelly Streimer, Villager Puzzles grew out of her search for jigsaw puzzles with artwork she’d want to display, packaging that looked good on a shelf and pieces that fit perfectly together. Kelly discovered puzzling as a working mom of three, turning to it as an evening ritual to unwind, step away from screens and make time for herself. But she struggled to find puzzles that met her standards. After being laid off from her corporate role as a marketing director, she turned that search into a business, launching Villager from her home in Comox, BC.

Each puzzle features original artwork created by Canadian women artists, and they earn royalties from every puzzle sold. The collection spans 250-, 500- and 1,000-piece puzzles, with artwork ranging from colourful landscapes to bold florals and playful illustrations. Puzzles are made with recycled blue paperboard and a matte finish to reduce glare. Since launching, Villager has sold more than 200,000 puzzles and grown to reach over 800 retail locations across Canada. The name for its community, the “Village,” captures the social side of the brand, which encourages people to put down their phones, spend time with a puzzle and support the artists whose work fills each box.
