About the brand

Elate wants to make beauty more sustainable. Founded by longtime beauty industry insider Melodie Reynolds in 2014, Elate is a Canadian beauty brand based in British Columbia. Elate was created in response to the waste and excess that Melodie saw throughout the beauty industry. The brand is built around a simple idea: that small, intentional choices can add up to meaningful change. That means choosing ethical ingredients, considering the life of a product beyond its first use, and creating makeup that invites people to feel good about their routines rather than pressured by them. The majority of Elate’s cosmetics are developed and produced in Canada.

Sustainability is an integral part of Elate’s products and practices, with 100% vegan and cruelty-free formulas, more than 75% organic ingredients, and packaging designed to be reusable, recyclable or plantable wherever possible. Packaging is refillable, recyclable, or plantable and the brand has a partnership with PACT to ensure it’s packaging is recycled correctly. The result is a beauty collection that makes the idea of low-waste living feel practical and approachable, one product and one routine at a time.
